You may have visited this property last year while it was still being built...come visit now - just about finished and being lived in! This property is made of masonry block construction house; detached; four bed family house; built along lines of a traditional farm house but with clever design to performance like modern house.

Large amount of insulation, cavity wall 300mm rockwall insulation in walls; wet plaster airtightness layer; some use of membranes; MVHR. Green Building Store windows and doors, underfloor heating in ground floor; hot water thermal; rain water harvesting. Fairly standard build but with lots of details that make it warmer and airtight, using materials that are readily available.

Achieved final air tightness of 0.4 m3/(h.m2) @ 50 Pa.

This event is free thanks to support from South Lakeland District Council. If you are able to make a donation to Cumbria Action for Sustainability, you'll be helping us to run the Cumbria Green Build Festival. Please visit our donations page for more details.
